Keep it Simple

Fantastic reminder from a mentor. Checking yourself when you are stuck with “how can I keep this simple” is often magic.

Breaking Low Moods

Last week I felt like I was dipping into a depressive mood for the first time in awhile. I realized that I was just stuck in a rut and just staying in the same routine that was causing me low mood. Breaking that cycle even just with one activity made me feel so much better. Life is grand!

Tackling Tough Conversations Head On

We often have fear in our heads of the worst case scenario and blow that up to thinking the worst outcome is the only outcome. Avoiding the uncomfortableness only makes it worse- tackling it head on is the only outcome.

Losing Deals

The worst feeling of all time! Sometimes I can shrug it off- other times I have literally brought a single deal up in therapy for months after. As sellers we put so much of our worth and value into always achieving winning outcomes. The loses often feel like a personal failure and a feeling of being rejected for not being enough. First Post

Well, I am going to give this a shot. A bit about me and what this blog will cover: I am 30 years old and married to an amazing woman who is my best friend of all time. We have two dogs and just bought a home in Nor-Cal. I love being active and talking to people—if I’m doing those two things, I feel super stoked! However, like everyone else, I struggle with crippling anxiety, unease, fear, and sometimes even depression.

I have found relief in both long-term and short-term hobbies like surfing, yoga, running, cycling, and hiking. Yoga, in particular, has become a favorite of mine and is something I teach occasionally after getting certified. I have worked in tech sales for seven years and have a confident hunch that this drives most of my anxiety, but it also brings me fulfillment in other ways.

I have found great peace in moments of joy and gratitude in the here and now and have always been wired for optimism and energy. I like to think about how many people I know, including myself, would find so much more happiness if we focused on gratitude rather than using technology or other habits to cultivate avoidance.

This blog will cover a ton of topics, but I hope to focus around that central point: How can we, in an unfair world—often working with our own unique problems and baggage—find joy in the everyday moments of life and our situation?

Thanks for reading this far. I feel like I missed the original blogging boat but am excited to give it a try :)
